Antique French Silver Chainmail Chatelaine Coin Purse

This gorgeous 19th century French antique silver mesh coin purse is made of a tight chainmail, and has a decorated arched frame with beautiful repousse leaf and flower design and a kiss clasp. Seven silver balls hang at the bottom of the purse. 

Those single compartment purses were made to hold coins and would hang with other elements from chatelaines worn by ladies at their belts. 

It has 3 marks on the frame difficult to read and tested as silver. 

It is in excellent antique condition. 

This stunning Victorian chatelaine purse with great patina would be a lovely addition to any antique collection.
