This stunning vintage brooch boasts a vibrant gold tone open work basket adorned with salmon, yellow, and purple enamel flowers, accented by rhinestones, glass pearls, and green leaves. 

Signed ©Weiss, this piece from the late 1960s is a charming addition to any collection, despite minimal enamel wear on the purple flower. I believe this piece was made after Albert Weiss retired.

Albert Weiss worked first for Coro, where he discovered that he was gifted for designing jewelry and learnt the tricks of the trade. In 1942 he founded his own costume jewelry company in New York. He employed only people who specialized in handcrafted pieces. It took hard work and skills to produce his high-end jewelry pieces. His exclusive jewelry collections became very popular. The company closed for business not long after he retired in 1969. Today, Weiss jewelry is an excellent addition to vintage collections, deemed rare and precious due to the small range that exists, causing its price to spike to unprecedented levels in recent years.
